How to Fix Tubeless Puncture Tyres at Home

Want to fix a tubeless puncture tyre at home by yourself? Want to know how a tubeless tire puncture is fixed? It is a very easy process, much easier than you think and you can do it all by yourself and with some very basic tubeless tyre puncture kit which is easily available online.

Before we begin to show you the process of fixing a tubeless puncture tyre, we should note a very convenient and basic point that a tubeless tyre puncture can be fixed without taking the tyre out of the car.

Step 1: Find the location of puncture. Check the tyre for a nail, screw, or a sharp stone that has pierced the rubber. You can find this by using a traditional soap solution and checking the tyre by revolving it through 360°. Keep the car on jack and set your gear to neutral. Also even if you find a puncture then also try to find the location in more areas as many a times you may find more than 1 puncture in your tyre. So one should be double sure that you have removed all the pieces from the tyre. 

The work of jack here is just to find the puncture as we do not take the punctured tyre out from its place.

Tools you need: To fix a puncture on a tubeless tyre you need a special kit that includes pliers, a smoothening tool, puncture repair strips, puncture strip insertion tool, and a knife/blade.

Step 3: Remove the object that has punctured the tyre with the help of pliers. Any set of pliers should solve the purpose. A plier comes with the above product. If doing for the first time, one should be careful about their hands.

Step 4: Insert the smoothening tool & insert & extract it a few times to make sure the puncture the big enough to accommodate the repair strip & is also smooth enough.

Step 5: Insert the puncture repair strip halfway into the puncture strip insertion tool like threading a needle Around 10 puncture repair strips are provided with the puncture kit. But in case you consume all of them then you can order just the repair strip online.

Step 6: Now use the puncture repair insertion tool to push the puncture strip inside. Gradually pull out the smoothening tool as you insert the puncture strip into the area made by the smoothing tool. Insert the same till only about 10mm of the strip is left above the tyre.

Step 7: If the strip is protruding too much, trim it with a knife.

 

The puncture is fixed and you are good to go.
