Tata Motors on Wednesday announced the addition of an XM(S) variant to the Nexon at a price of ₹8.36 lakh (ex showroom, Delhi). For reference – The XM variant is currently retailed at Rs 7.84 lakh for the petrol variant and Rs 9.20 lakh for the diesel variant. (All prices are ex-showroom).
The new XM(S) variant is just an extension of the XM variant with a sunroof. It is available in both petrol and diesel, the Nexon will come with two transmission options – Manual and AMT.

Currently, Tata Motors offers Nexon with a 6-speed manual or a 6-speed AMT. Powertrain options include a 1.2-litre Revotron turbocharged petrol engine and a 1.5-litre Revotorq diesel engine. The petrol unit churns out 120 PS of power and 170 Nm of peak torque, whereas the diesel mill generates 110 PS of power and 260 Nm of peak torque.
Features already existing in the Nexon XM, like Electronic Stability Program, LED DRLs with Projector Headlamps, Driver and Co-Driver Airbags, Hill Hold Control, ConnectNext Infotainment System by Harman and Multi- Drive Modes (Eco, City and Sport), are carried forward to the XM(S) as well.

It was previously speculated that Tata would bring in Nexon Dual Clutch Transmission (DCT) but this was the DCT Nexon on offer. But there are unverified reports which claim that Nexon DCT is in the making, and will be launched to rival the likes of Venue and Sonet – both of which come with 7 Speed DCT in the segment.
It is the Nex level Design SUV. It is available in both petrol and diesel.
