Hyundai Motor India Ltd (HMIL) on Friday said its all-new i20 premium hatchback has received 20,000 bookings within 20 days of its launch in the market. The company has also delivered more than 4000 units during the Diwali season. The third-generation i20 was officially launched earlier in November at a starting price point of ₹6.79 lakh (ex showroom, pan India, introductory) and fights in the premium hatchback segment featuring cars like Tata Altroz, Volkswagen Polo, Toyota Glanza and Maruti Suzuki Baleno. More than 85 per cent customers have opted for Sportz and above trims, showcasing a strong demand for advanced technologies offered on the all-new Hyundai i20.
The car’s structure comprises 66% high-strength steel and is lighter and has enhanced crashworthiness. Some of the key safety features on the new car include its segment-best six airbags, Vehicle Stability Management, Electronic Stability Control, Hill Assist Control, Rear Parking Camera with sensor display.
The company claims that the new i20 has been launched with an introductory price that will be applicable on deliveries up to 31st December this year. The price of the highest variant goes all the way up to ₹11.17 lakh for the Asta (O) variant.
