Honda Launches Online Booking Platform “Honda From Home” – For Online Sales and Doorstep Delivery Of Cars

With the lockdown to control the spread of Coronavirus across the country rendering regular activities moot, Indian automobile manufacturers are taking to the internet to sell their vehicles. The latest to join this list is Honda Cars India, which has now launched the ‘Honda from Home’ online vehicle booking platform.

The digital portal will allow those interested in buying Honda cars to do so right from their homes. As per the company, ‘Honda from Home’ will soon serve customers across Honda’s nationwide network of 375 touchpoints across 263 cities.

Don’t mistake it for just a portal for booking the Honda cars. Honda from Home encompasses the whole process of buying a vehicle and promises a contact-less doorstep delivery once the buying formalities are complete.

Those interested can visit Honda Car India’s official website and select the ‘Book Now’ option. After providing necessary details, customers can choose from a range of Honda cars along with their model, fuel type, transmission option as well as color right on the website.

The customers will then have to select the locality and dealership they aim to make the purchase from. Payment for the booking can be made online and post that, dealership executives will reach out to the customer for the rest of the sales process including documentation and finance options.

Honda’s portfolio in India currently includes the Amaze, City, Civic and CR-V. The WR-V cross-hatch is set to get a facelift soon that’ll bring about cosmetic changes, feature updates and BS6-compliant engines. The Jazz is also touted to get a BS6 update in the coming days. While we’re still awaiting their price announcement, both the models are already up for pre-orders. The next big launch for the automaker is that of the fifth-gen City which was originally slated for this month but has now been rescheduled to a later date due to the COVID-19 outbreak.

It is expected that there will be a sharp decline in the number of customer walk-ins at dealerships, even after the lockdown due to the coronavirus crisis is lifted. This has prompted many automakers to take the car buying process digital. In the past few days, Hyundai, Tata and Mercedes have already launched their digital sales platforms, while BMW and Volkswagen have also recently entered the domain. It will be interesting to see if such online initiatives can provide a fillip to sales and keep the numbers ticking in these times of restricted movement.
